About me

Dear sir,

APPLICATION FOR A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

I wish to apply for consideration as a kindergarten teacher in your highly esteemed school.

With a sound knowledge of Cambridge International Education, International Baccalaureate, inclusive teaching methodologies, project-based teaching style, inquiry-based learning style and assessment strategies, I hold a first degree in Microbiology from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and advanced degrees in Educational Psychology from the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Nigeria. Furthermore, I have 15 years of cumulative teaching experience working in some of the best schools in Nigeria and I have offered training in assessment components, teachers’ development, inclusive classroom, project-based teaching and inquiry-based learning styles to teachers from schools in Nigeria.

As a Cambridge school teacher, I understand the need for teachers to meet curriculum standards in order for students to excel. I offer engaging lessons that ensure my students can relate what they learn to real-life situations, setting tasks that challenge students and ensuring high levels of interest with project-based learning. A visit to my class will show a teacher with excellent content knowledge that engages her students throughout the lesson, sets clear targets and builds on prior engagements. Everything I do revolves around inquiry, it’s an engaging experience you might wish to witness soon. Typically, my pupils’ results rank among the best in the schools I have worked. I take pride in my ability to be inclusive and teach Mathematics, English, and Science to my pupils with patience, love, skills, and experience, without any form of bias, ensuring that every child is given an equal opportunity. I believe the different strategies I use to make learning interesting and to kindle the flame of enquiry in my pupils will be invaluable to your School.

If given the opportunity to join your dynamic team, I do not only want to see it as a job but an opportunity to be part of the community and positively contribute to ensuring the school achieves its vision. I am actively involved in extracurricular activities and have been involved in forming various exciting clubs at the schools I have worked, such as reading, sports, career, and STEAM clubs. These clubs turn out to be the most successful clubs as they incorporates every aspect of the child’s learning and development. I am looking forward to doing something similar in your school. In my current school, I run aerobics, tennis, reading, literary, and debating extracurricular activities as well as student support systems after classes.

I am actively involved in giving extra support lessons to pupils during the holidays, this practice shows my commitment to doing whatever it takes to see my pupils achieve their best in their examinations, academics and attain a holistic development. I would like to discuss more about the role with you if you consider me a good fit.

Best regards,

Linda Iyayi Otabor, PhD.
